Mantra Being is a compilation of traditional Sanskrit stotrams (mantras), along with mantras written by Swami Shyam, which are new, yet eternal. The mantras of Swami Shyam are a great gift to all, for they speak of One Truth. Alka, Swami Shyam’s youngest daughter, who is an accomplished singer, says, “This recording includes some of my favourite traditional stotrams, which I have sung all my life." The mantras carry deep knowledge, filled with delight. The meanings reach the listener’s heart immediately, even though they are so profound. One becomes aware of his own true Self, “pure, free, forever,” and taps his feet to the rhythm of Immortality and Bliss, Amaram Hum Madhuram Hum.

Swami Shyam says, “The truth is Oneness. But for human beings—who have a thinking mind, a speaking mouth, and their imagination—the highest qualities that a highly evolved person can think of are attributed to the invisible Oneness, which is unknown to the human senses and mind. That is why different melodies, sounds, and words are in this collection of songs, but the sound is the eternal sargam, or octave, forever the same.”
